Cat Hunt, Amazon Voucher Giveaway 27th - 30th September 2024 - Terms and Conditions

1. Promoter
The promoter of this competition is Traditional Sash Windows and Carpentry, located at www.traditionalcarpentry.uk.

2. Eligibility
The competition is open to residents of the UK who are aged 18 years or over, excluding employees of Traditional Sash Windows and Carpentry and their close relatives, or anyone otherwise connected with the organization or judging of the competition.

No purchase is necessary to enter or win.

3. How to Enter

To enter, participants must share the official competition post from the Traditional Sash Windows and Carpentry Facebook page before 6pm on Friday 27th September 2024.

After sharing the post, participants must visit www.traditionalcarpentry.uk..at 8pm on Friday, 27th September 2024, to search for two hidden cat images.

The first participant to message the Traditional Sash Windows and Carpentry Facebook page with the correct location of one of the hidden cats, along with proof they shared the post, will win the corresponding Amazon voucher.

Each hidden cat corresponds to a different prize:

First Cat: £30 Amazon voucher
Second Cat: £20 Amazon voucher

4. Competition Period
The competition will go live at 8pm on Friday, 27th September 2024 and will remain open until both vouchers are claimed.

5. Prizes
Two prizes are available: a £30 Amazon voucher for finding the first hidden cat, and a £20 Amazon voucher for finding the second hidden cat. The prizes are as stated and no cash or other alternatives will be offered. The prizes are non-transferable.

6. Winner Selection
Winners will be determined on a first-come, first-served basis. To win, participants must be the first to message Traditional Sash Windows and Carpentry with the correct location of one of the hidden cats and provide proof that they shared the competition post. Winners will be contacted via Facebook Messenger and must respond within 48 hours to claim their prize, or an alternate winner will be selected.

7. Data Protection and Publicity
By entering the competition, participants consent to the collection and use of their personal data for the purpose of administering this competition. Winners may be announced on social media, and by entering, participants consent to having their names or social media handles shared for promotional purposes.

8. Limitation of Liability

9. Disqualification

Standard Terms and Conditions

In these conditions of sale:

1) "The Company"
means Traditional Carpentry LTD, trading as Traditional Carpentry. Our office is based at 7 Kentmere Avenue, Ramsgate, Kent, CT11 0QF.

2) "The Customer or Client" means the person, firm, or company from whom an order is accepted by The Company.

3) "Goods" means goods or services which are the subject of such an order, whether placed verbally or in writing.

4) "O&DP" means overhaul and draught proof.

5) "Sashes only" refers to the timber that retains the glass, not the outer frame secured to the brickwork.

6) "Frames and sash" refers to the complete window, including the outer frame and the sash.

7) "Timber spec" is the timber type chosen.

8) "Deposit" is the amount payable before the contract is accepted or refundable if the contract is cancelled as per clause 5.

9) "Materials to site" is the amount payable when all goods are on site and meet acceptable standards.

10) "Balance on completion" is the amount payable upon completion of a "Sign off sheet."

11) "Location" is where the windows in question are located.

12) "Sash design" refers to the number of glass panes each sash is split into (e.g., 6 over 6 means the top sash is split into 6, and the bottom sash is also split into 6).

13) "S/G" means Single Glazed.

14) "D/G" means Double Glazed.

15) "Softwood" is Scandinavian Redwood Pine.

16) "Hardwood" is Hardwood Utile.


Single Glazed replacements


17) Single Glazed Replacement Odd sashes are supplied primed only.

18) Single Glazed complete replacement sash windows or casements will be fully decorated unless specified otherwise.

19) Putty decoration may require additional time based on the season (approx. one week in summer, up to three weeks in winter).


Client Responsibilities


20) The client must remove all obstructions from around the windows, including furniture, curtains, blinds, secondary glazing, or shutters.

21) Standard fitting charges do not include putting these items back.

22) The Company is not responsible for any damage caused if these items are not removed by the client.

23) The Company reserves the right to charge for wasted time if work cannot be carried out due to site-specific restrictions or conditions.


Contract Terms

24) The Customer agrees to purchase and have installed (if required) the Goods specified in the contract.

25) Upon signing the contract, there is a 14-day cooling-off period during which the client can cancel the job and have their deposit returned.

26) The cancellation form must be posted back and received within 14 days of the contract date.

27) For urgent orders, clients must sign to waive the 14-day cooling-off period.


Payment Terms

28) Planning/manufacture will not begin until the required deposit is received by The Company.

29) Delay in deposit payment will delay the estimated fitting date.

30) Contracts not signed and returned within 28 days will be cancelled, and prices will not be held.

31) If the client wishes to secure prices for up to 6 months, the signed contract must be returned.


Site Conditions

31) Orders are individually manufactured, and any Goods not used in their intended location cannot be credited.

32) Upon job completion, a "Sign off" sheet must be filled in by the site supervisor and signed by the client.

33) The total outstanding balance is payable immediately after installation or delivery. Payment can be made via BACS or cash.

34) Outstanding balances not paid in full on the installation date will incur a late payment fee of £100.

35) Failure to adhere to payment terms will void any subsequent claim under the Guarantee.


Survey and Installations

36)The Company reserves the right to cancel the order if the surveyor is not satisfied that the Company can fulfil its obligations within the contract price.

37) Deposits or monies will be refunded in full if the order is cancelled by The Company.

38) The Customer must verify all items and diagrams in the contract.

39) Risk passes to the Customer when Goods leave The Company's premises if collected by the Customer or upon installation by The Company.

40) Ownership of Goods remains with The Company until full payment is received and cleared.


Access and Utilities

41) Access and Utilities The Customer must allow access to The Company and its workers for installation.

42) If installation is delayed by the Customer, the balance of the product supply cost becomes payable after 28 days.

43) The Customer must provide free use of water and electricity.


Liability and Repairs

44) Liability and Repairs The Company will take reasonable care of the Customer’s property but cannot accept liability for damage or re-decoration.

45) The contract price does not include repair or replacement of any structural defects unless specified.

46) Any necessary additional work will be quoted separately.


Disposal and site cleanliness

47) The Company will dispose of existing doors, windows, and frames unless instructed otherwise.

48) The Company will make efforts to protect and clean working areas but is not responsible for small fragments left behind.


Product Variations and Acceptance

49) The Company reserves the right to make minor variations in product specifications.

50) The Customer is deemed to have accepted the Goods if not rejected within 24 hours of delivery or collection.


Guarantees and Regulations

51) Product guarantees take effect upon full payment.

52) Single or double glazed replacement sashes are not covered by building regulations but must comply with local conservation rules.


Additional Repairs

53) Additional repairs revealed during installation will not proceed without Customer approval and agreement to cover costs.


Pets

54) The Company is not responsible for pets; it is the client’s responsibility to secure them.


Notice of Right to Cancel

55) Notice of Right to CancelCustomers have the right to cancel the contract within 14 days of receiving the Notice.

56) The cancellation form must be sent to the Company’s address.

57) Customers may need to pay for goods or services if the contract performance begins with written agreement before the end of the cancellation period.
